Nationernas främsta uppgift är den sociala verksamheten utanför studierna. En stor del av deras aktiviteter består av matservering, pubar och nattklubbar. Östgöta Nation är en av tretton nationer vid Lunds universitet, och ligger ett stenkast från AF-borgen. Vi grundades år 1668 och är den tidigast grundade av de tretton studentnationerna i Lund! Hos oss hittar du de festligaste festerna, den godaste maten, sköna pubhäng och mycket mer därtill!

Det som gör nationerna speciella är att de drivs ideellt av studenter, för studenter. Traditionen går tillbaka till när Lunds universitet startade på 1600-talet. Studenter vid Lunds universitet vars utbildning ges vid annan ort än Lund, distansstudenter samt studenter som åker på utbytestermin från Lunds universitet har möjlighet att teckna medlemskap i enbart studentkår eller i nation och AF. Today I have started reading about Nations in Lund and I felt overwhelmed, there are many Nations. I have read all their descriptions in Studentlund and I do not know that to think or which one to choose. VG's is the nation of choice for wednesday nights, house music and that standard student bar. However, as been said before; you do NOT need to be a member of, lets say Lunds to attend their clubs. You do need to be a member of A nation to get your student card, wish gives you access to the nations. 2019-12-23 Student at Lund University, whose courses are provided at a place other than Lund, long-distance students and students that are on a semester abroad away from Lund University are only able to become member in just a student union or in a nation + AF.
